These Driver Partner Terms govern the relationship between you ("Driver") and Selam Ride Uganda ("Platform"). By registering as a driver-partner, you agree to these terms.

1. Driver Status

You are an independent contractor, not an employee of Selam Ride Uganda. You are free to work for other platforms and choose your own hours. Selam Ride does not control how you perform your work beyond the requirements set out in these terms and our Community Guidelines.

2. Eligibility Requirements

Minimum age of 21 years
Valid Uganda driving licence appropriate for your vehicle class
Good driving experience
Clean criminal background (police clearance required)
Vehicle must pass our inspection criteria
Valid third-party insurance
Valid police clearance certificate (within 6 months)

3. Earnings and Commission

You keep 92% of every fare collected. Selam Ride retains an 8% platform fee covering technology, insurance, support, and operations. Earnings are credited to your Selam Ride wallet after each completed trip. You may withdraw at any time with a minimum withdrawal of UGX 10,000.

4. Driver Obligations

Maintain your vehicle in safe, roadworthy, and clean condition
Carry all required documents while driving
Follow all Ugandan traffic laws and regulations
Accept trips fairly and avoid excessive cancellations
Treat riders with courtesy and professionalism
Complete trips as booked without detouring unreasonably
Report all accidents or incidents immediately

5. Performance Standards

To maintain active driver status, you must maintain a rating of at least 4.0/5. Drivers below 3.8/5 may be temporarily suspended pending review. Our quality team provides guidance and support to help all drivers succeed.

6. Account Termination

Selam Ride may terminate your driver account for fraud, serious safety violations, sustained poor ratings, provision of false documents, or serious violations of these terms. Drivers may appeal termination decisions within 30 days.

7. Liability

As an independent contractor, you are responsible for your vehicle, your safety, and compliance with all applicable laws. Selam Ride provides platform insurance coverage for trip-related incidents as detailed in our insurance disclosure.
